Exclusive: After China Mega Deal, Dentons Seeks U.S. Law Merger

For Dentons , there may be no such thing as too big.

In January, it ballooned to 6,600 lawyers through a historic tie-up with Dacheng, China’s largest law firm. Just months later, Dentons is exploring another blockbuster combination with a U.S. firm, according to three sources briefed on the matter.

Two of these sources said Dentons recently re-engaged in preliminary talks with Washington-based McKenna Long & Aldridge . The two firms had discussed a potential tie-up in late 2013, but a merger was never consummated .

Neither side would confirm or deny that discussions are happening.
