General Electric GC: Biggest Budget Woes Aren’t Fees

Brackett Denniston III, Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel for General Electric Company , said that “bad lawyering” is the biggest factor that turns an in-house legal budget into a headache, and that hefty fees from outside counsel don’t have as much to do with it.

In the second installment of a three-part series in Big Law Business, Denniston lays out what General Electric is doing to rein in its legal spend, in part by building out an internal investigations unit to handle regulatory matters in-house.
