John Quinn: Marketing Is A Lawyer’s Job

John Quinn, name partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan , said it’s no longer enough to be the best litigator in the room and expect the next client to hire you for a bet-the-company case – you have to market yourself.

Quinn told Big Law Business the legal business climate has dramatically shifted since he founded Quinn Emanuel in 1986. He is now asking associates and counsel to involve themselves in at least one marketing project this year to help with business development.
