Sometimes good things come in very large packages.
Kirkland & Ellis made a gift Friday of almost $5.5 million to the University of Chicago Law School to support its corporate lab, a clinical education program the school began in 2009.
“It’s a naming gift,’' Dean Michael Schill said in an interview. The program is now called the Kirkland & Ellis Corporate Lab.
The donation came about from a matching program at the firm, which counts 145 Chicago law school alumni among its ranks.
