A 25-Year Tenure as Chair? Not at This Big Law Firm

Six years may not seem like a terribly long time as chair of a big law firm, but at Baker & McKenzie it’s actually the norm.

Eduardo Leite is stepping down after six years to make way for London managing partner Paul Rawlinson, who will take over as firm chair in October.

Leite, who is 65, said that past chairs at Baker have had similar terms as chair: John Conroy served as chair between 2004 and 2010; and before him, Christine Lagarde served in the role from 1999 to 2004.
