ABA President Responds to Judge’s Criticism

Editor’s Note: Earlier today, weposteda speech that New York federal judge Jed Rakoff gave on April 10 at a Harvard Law School conference focused on the lawyer’s role in society. His speech originally criticized bar associations for not speaking out about mass incarceration, but Judge Rakoff updated the text to commend the American Bar Association’s efforts in this area. Below, the current ABA president explains these actions.
