News emerged on Sunday that Scott Barshay, a top M&A partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, has joined Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison , a New York City-based law firm that has sought to build out its corporate mergers and acquisitions practice.
The news is significant to leaders at elite law firms — both on Wall Street and throughout the country — because practically no partner leaves Cravath for a competitor and Barshay was one of the most prominent lawyers at the firm.
