Big Law Firm Hosts Hillary in New York

Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton was in New York on Thursday, and one Big Law firm rolled out the red carpet.

According to Clinton’s campaign website, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison hosted a fundraiser for Clinton on Thursday afternoon. Titled “ Conversation with Hillary ,” the event cost $2,700 per person to attend.

Deborah Rhode, a law professor at Stanford Law School and director of the Stanford Center on the Legal Profession, said that while individual lawyers at large law firms have personal incentives to mix with presidential contenders, Paul Weiss’s hosting of a fundraiser is probably a straightforward business decision.
