Catalyst Launches Second Japan Data Center

In early 2011, Catalyst Repository Systems was receiving requests to host data in Asia and the company began investigating whether to build a data center in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, before finally deciding on Tokyo, said Dave Sannar, the company’s managing director in Japan.

Japan does not have the exchange of information as part of their civil litigation, Sannar explained, but there’s a great deal of data in the country that needs to be collected for litigation in other countries. He estimated that 80 to 90 percent of the data that Catalyst hosts in Japan comes from Japan, with the rest coming from the U.S. or nearby countries such as Korea, China and Vietnam. ...
