Citing Trump, N.Y. Legislator Seeks Tax Disclosure Law

The Tax Returns Uniformly Made Public (TRUMP) Act would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to disclose their income tax returns going back five years as a condition of appearing on the ballot in New York, if a state senator’s proposal gains traction.

State Sen. Brad Hoylman (D), who represents a New York City district where Donald J. Trump received less than 10 percent of the vote in the November presidential election, announced the legislative proposal Dec. 6. He argued that Trump’s refusal to disclose his tax returns was an aberration and shouldn’t be tolerated.
