DLA Piper Announces Merger Plans in Sweden

DLA Piper announced on Thursday it will merge the Swedish law boutique, Grönberg Advokatbyrå, into its fold.

Founded in 1929, Grönberg Advokatbyrå is a 21-lawyer boutique that targets a variety of practices areas including litigation, bankruptcy, corporate and compliance work.

The firms set an October 2016 target date for the merger to close. If completed the boutique’s lawyers would move to DLA’s existing office in Stockholm, which lists about 75 lawyers. The merger also expands DLA’s pan-Nordic presence to about 200 lawyers, and adds to offices in Oslo and Helsinki.
