FIFA Law Firm Lands Second Soccer Client in Corruption Scandal

The U.S. law firm representing FIFA in the corruption crisis that is shaking world soccer is adding South America’s scandal-tainted governing body to its roster of clients.

Alejandro Dominguez, president of the South American soccer organization known as Conmebol, confirmed the appointment of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP. He said he was confident that there was no risk of a conflict of interest and that the firm would treat the South American body with the same level of importance as it does FIFA, world soccer’s governing body.
