For Lawyers, Stark Differences in Career Path After Children

Having children led women lawyers to quit their job and leave the paid workforce altogether, whereas men were more likely than women to report working more hours, according to a study of Harvard Law School graduates from the past several decades that offers insight on gender dynamics within the legal profession.

The study, which Big Law Business reported on here and here , surveyed Harvard Law School alumni from four graduating classes — 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2000.
