If Scott MacKay, former general counsel of Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems and Global Solutions business unit, has affection for the U.S. Army, it isn’t immediately apparent.

Asked about his experience as a cadet at West Point, MacKay says he was “pretty miserable for four years.” Asked whether he’d recommend the Army’s JAG Corps, where he spent seven years, to lawyers aspiring to Big Law practice, MacKay is just as blunt: “Candidly, no.”
