Former Deputy White House Counsel Joins Akin Gump

Akin Gump has hired former Deputy White House Counsel Leslie Kiernan, the firm announced on Wednesday.

Kiernan served at the White House from 2011 to 2014, and will join the firm’s Washington D.C. office as a partner in the litigation practice.

Prior to jumping to government, Kiernan spent more than twenty years as a litigator at Zuckerman Spaeder , where she specialized in congressional investigations and white-collar criminal defense, and represented clients such as former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe and Congressman Charles Rangel.
