Gibson Dunn Opens in Frankfurt in Wake of Brexit

After hiring two M&A partners away from Latham & Watkins, Gibson Dunn is opening an office in Frankfurt, the firm announced on Thursday.

The partners, Dirk Oberbracht and Wilhelm Reinhardt, have been with Latham since 2006 and 2004, respectively, according to Gibson Dunn.

Oberbracht has served as the managing partner of Latham’s Frankfurt office since 2011.

Michael Walther, partner in charge of Gibson Dunn’s German offices, said the firm already has 21 lawyers staffed in its Munich office, bringing the firm’s total to 23 in Germany.
