Greenberg Traurig confirmed on Wednesday that it is in preliminary discussions to combine with the London-based law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner.
Miami-founded Greenberg Traurig has about 1,950 lawyers in 38 offices, while Berwin Leighton has more than 800 lawyers in 12 international offices, according to the firm’s website.
A combination of the two firms would result in a firm with more than 2,500 lawyers, including nearly 750 in New York and London, according to a Greenberg Traurig release.
