Haynes and Boone Acquires IP Boutique

Haynes and Boone has acquired the intellectual property law boutique Mavrakakis Law Group.

The deal brings four partners and four associates, located in both Palo Alto and Chicago, to 550-lawyer Haynes and Boone, the Texas-based law firm announced on Thursday.

The new group advises clients on a diverse range of patent matters, including patent litigation, patent licensing, patent portfolio management and acquisition, and arbitration.

The Chicago lawyers from Mavrakakis — including partner Howard Levin and Jim Shimota — will establish Haynes and Boone’s first office there; meanwhile the others will join Haynes and Boone’s Silicon Valley office where there will now be ...
