Is This the New Required Reading for Big Law?

Someone please tip the good people at Wikipedia.

A Message to Garcia, the essay published in 1899 about the importance of being a self-starter, was turned into two movies in the early 1900’s. And now it’s been incarnated in an even more enviable medium: a Big Law memo.

On Aug. 5, Ed Herlihy, co-chair of the elite New York law firm Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz, sent a digital copy of the story as recommended reading to his firm’s personnel. That’s according to Above the Law , which scooped up the memo Wednesday.
