Litigation Financier Bentham IMF Adds Federal Judge to Ranks

The Australian publicly listed litigation finance company Bentham IMF announced on Friday that former U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker will join the company and help pick cases to fund.

Walker, who was based in the San Francisco federal courthouse until his retirement in 2011, is best known as the judge who oversaw the original trial inHollingsworth v. Perry, and found California’s Proposition 8 — a voter-passed proposition in California that did not recognize same-sex marriage — to be unconstitutional.
