Mayer Brown Takes Two from Baker & McKenzie, Eyes Dubai

Mayer Brown announced Thursday that it has hired two prominent partners in Washington, D.C. from Baker & McKenzie — Charles Salem Hallab and Tahan “Tom” Thraya.

Hallab was previously chair of Baker & McKenzie’s corporate and securities practice in Washington, D.C., and head of the firm’s Middle East practice for North Africa.

Thraya led Baker & McKenzie’s United Arab Emirates corporate and commercial practice and was also a founding partner of the firm’s Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha offices.

According to Mayer Brown, Hallab and Thraya are also bringing two associates with them from Baker & McKenzie.
