McDermott Hires Top Boston Finance Prosecutor

McDermott Will & Emery has added former top federal financial prosecutor Sarah E. Walters as a partner in the firm’s Boston office.

Walters, who headed up the economic crimes unit for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Massachusetts from October 2013 until this past April, will head the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She will specialize in defending white collar and government investigation cases.

Walters was the lead prosecutor in a multi-year undercover federal investigation, called “Operation Pennypincher,” that investigated securities fraud in Boston. In that investigation, an undercover agent posed as a crooked hedge fund manager willing to invest his fund’s ...
