McDermott Will & Emery has elected the Miami corporate lawyer Ira J. Coleman as chair of the firm, effective, Jan. 1, the firm announced on Thursday.
Coleman, 53, will succeed current co-chairs Jeffrey E. Stone and Peter J. Sacripanti, who will step down after eight years at the helm.
In his new role, Coleman will lead all firm decision-making as the chair of McDermott’s 21-member management committee.
Coleman has been with the firm for 24 years and serves as the global head of its corporate and transactional practice, as well as partner-in-charge of its Miami office.
