MetLife Seeks to Delay Systemic Risk Tag Due to Trump Review

MetLife Inc. asked a federal appeals court to pause its legal fight with the Financial Stability Oversight Council over regulators’ decision to label the insurer a “systemically important financial institution.”

MetLife’s April 24 filing came three days after President Donald Trump ordered the FSOC not to designate any new companies as SIFIs and to review its process for doing so.
