Obama Appoints O’Melveny Vice Chair to Cybersecurity Commission

President Barack Obama has appointed O’Melveny & Myers vice chairman and longtime presidential advisor Tom Donilon to head up a newly-formed cybersecurity commission.

Donilon, who most recently served as National Security Advisor to Obama before rejoining O’Melveny in 2014, will lead the commission with former IBM CEO Sam Palmisano, the president said on Wednesday.

The goal of the commission will be to produce a report by Dec. 1 that outlines how to deal with the country’s cybersecurity problem, both in the federal government and in the private sector.
