Paul Hastings Hires Founder of Defunct Energy Law Firm in Houston

The founder of the defunct energy law firm Burleson has joined Paul Hastings in Houston, the law firm announced on Tuesday.

Rick Burleson, who advises companies in the development and production of oil and gas projects, joins as chair of Paul Hastings’ oil and gas practice in the global law firm’s 29-lawyer Houston office.

“What I’m focusing on right now is building up my practice,” said Burleson, who spent much of his time in management at Burleson.

In November, the firm Burleson founded in 2005 announced it would shutter because of dwindling legal work in the oil and gas market. ...
