Sidley Hires Manatt Litigation Leader in L.A.

The co-chair of Manatt Phelps & Phillips’ trial practice is joining Sidley Austin, the firm said on Tuesday.

Chad Hummel, whose clients have included IMAX, AT&T and Sony Pictures, will join Sidley as a partner and serve as co-leader of the firm’s new trial practice initiative.

Hummel’s profile on the Manatt web site describes him as a lawyer that specializes in “mission-critical litigation,” having worked on a Hewlett-Packard inkjet printer monopolization case, and conducted trial work in connection with the criminal prosecution of former Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pellicano who was convicted of wiretapping celebrities.
