There was a time when smoking marijuana was a sure-fire way to derail your career.

Take Ronald Reagan’s 1987 U.S. Supreme Court nominee Douglas Ginsburg, who asked to withdraw after it was discovered he had smoked marijuana several times while at Harvard.

Today, lawyers are all over marijuana as dozens of states legalize it for medicinal or recreational purposes.
