Steven Brill, founder of The American Lawyer and Court TV , said the sudden collapse of Dewey & LeBoeuf in 2012 amid a string of partner departures caused him to reflect anew on the impact of law firm rankings.

In the second and final part of our series, Brill spoke with Big Law Business about core areas where law firms and the people writing about them could improve. He also questioned whether alternative billing arrangements actually work, as well as the excessive cost of law school.
