Stroock Obtains $40M Transfer of What Was Once Iran’s Money

Jamie Bernard and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan are heading into this holiday week after a big payday: On Friday Nov. 11, the firm received a wire transfer of approximately $40 million that had once been the property of Iran.

It marked the culmination of more than eight years of effort, during which time Bernard said he and other lawyers at the firm fought on behalf of a group of of clients who were themselves victims, or whose family members were victims of what a federal court ruled to be Iran-sponsored terrorist acts that took place in Israel.
