Supreme Court Refuses Three Environmental Cases

Federal regulators preserved victories in two disputes when the U.S. Supreme Court refused Oct. 11 to review cases on protections for a West Coast fish species and approvals for work on a ski resort in a national forest. But at the same time, the U.S. Forest Service lost a chance to argue before the court against the prospect of citizen lawsuits forcing additional rounds of Endangered Species Act consultations over program policies.
