The Dewey Jury and the Big Apple on $40 Per Day

By the time a judge declared a mistrial in the prosecution of three former Dewey & LeBoeuf executives, jurors had spent five months in the courtroom, suffering through reported physical injuries, illnesses and, of course, hours and hours of testimony about the inner machinations of a global law firm.

For all this, what were they paid?

In New York, jurors receive $40 per day from the state for their service – assuming they aren’t being paid by their employer. We did the math:
