The Twinkie’s Future is Bright, Thanks to These Lawyers

After surviving bankruptcy and undergoing ownership changes in recent years, beloved dessert maker Hostess Brands has changed hands once again.

A company affiliated with the Gores Group, an investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles, purchased a majority stake in the company for $725 million, according to an announcement from the firm on Tuesday.

Several big law firms were involved in the deal, including Weil, Gotshal & Manges, which advised Gores Group. The team from Weil was led by Kyle Krpata and James Griffin, partners in the firm’s Silicon Valley and Dallas offices, respectively.
