There’s a New Leader Coming to This Big Law Firm, Too?!

It must be leadership succession season in Big Law.

Akerman LLP, a large Florida-founded law firm, announced on Monday that David I. Spector will succeed Andrew M. Smulian as chair and CEO.

Spector, a member of the executive committee and co-chair of Akerman’s fraud and recovery practice group, was elected by a partnership vote on Sept. 9, the firm said in a statement.

He will serve a three-year term that begins on Feb. 1, 2018.
