This Big Law Firm Just Appointed a “Chief Client Ambassador”

The buzz line of the past few years at corporate law firms has been to learn your client inside and out — it’s no longer enough to simply offer legal guidance, is the refrain repeated at law conferences. Lawyers need to know the business side, too.

On Monday, law firm Pepper Hamilton took that talking-point to heart and announced that Nina Gussack, who served as chair of the firm’s executive committee between 2007 and 2014, would take on a newly-created position of “Chief Client Ambassador.”

Effective immediately, Gussack will begin meeting with clients in the life sciences space — pharmaceutical, manufacturing and medical device companies ...
