Trump Defends Immigration Order as Fight Winds Toward Top Court

President Donald Trump said his immigration controls are needed to protect Americans from “radical Islamic terrorists” as an appeals court decides whether to let him re- impose a ban on travelers from seven Muslim majority nations.

The ban affecting business travelers, students, immigrants and refugees might be re-imposed as early as Monday if an appeals court rules in the administration’s favor. That would allow Trump’s executive order to be enforced while a lower-court judge decides whether it violates the Constitution.
