Wake Up Call: Christie Wager for Sports Gambling Pays Law Firms

• Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and other law firms have raked in over $6 million from the New Jersey government since 2012 to make the case for legalizing sports-betting at its racetracks and casinos. That’s been a losing bet so far for taxpayers and for Governor Chris Christie. And those legal bills from Gibson Dunn and other firms don’t yet include work to petition the U.S. Supreme Court to take a case on the issue. ( Asbury Park Press )
