• Critics of third-party litigation funding have pounced on this week’s revelation that PayPal billionaire co-founder Peter Thiel helped fund Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker Media, possibly as a means to get his own revenge against Gawker. But litigation funders said Thursday that their own business models are based on maximizing investors’ returns, not revenge or a political agenda. (American Lawyer)
